Bifidobacterium

One of the most clinically studied probiotic genera. Bifidobacteria dominate healthy infant guts but decline naturally with age and antibiotic use. They ferment fibre, produce short-chain fatty acids, support immunity, and compete against harmful bacteria. Bifidobacterium breve BR03 is studied for muscle recovery while B. animalis lactis supports digestion and immune function.
