CFU (Colony forming units)

CFU is the standard unit for counting live bacteria in a probiotic. One CFU equals one bacterium capable of multiplying. High-quality probiotics typically contain 1-50 billion CFU. But raw numbers alone do not determine effectiveness: the specific strain, its survivability through stomach acid, its delivery mechanism, and whether it has clinical evidence for your health issue all matter far more.
