H. pylori (Helicobacter pylori)

H. pylori is a bacterium that infects the stomach lining in roughly half the global population often without causing symptoms. In some people it triggers chronic gastritis, peptic ulcers, and significantly increases the risk of stomach cancer. It also disrupts the broader gut microbiome by reducing beneficial Lactobacillus populations. Specific probiotic strains have clinical evidence for reducing H. pylori colonisation and supporting standard antibiotic eradication therapy.
