Probiotics

Probiotics are live microorganisms that when consumed in adequate amounts confer a measurable health benefit - the official WHO/FAO definition. What determines effectiveness is the specific strain, CFU count delivered alive to the gut, survivability through stomach acid, the delivery mechanism, and whether the strain has clinical evidence for the target health outcome. Generic probiotics and targeted clinical probiotics are not interchangeable.
